my " weekend ".

I am just finishing up my last day off- right now I am working 4 days on, 4 days off, at the mill. I only have two more sets of shifts to go and I can not wait. I have been so home sick though for New Westminster/ Vancouver though its not funny. So for this last 3 day I bussed home - 5 hours ob a greyhound is not fun, but so worth it to see my best friend and boyfriend.

I did well with working out while I was gone, three of my girlfriends and myself went to the Canada Games pool and swam for about an hour and a half on one day , which just reminded me of how much I love swimming! Although, I do need to buy myself another bikini, as my bottoms from last year are too loose now, and kept trying to slide off!

Adam lives downtown in Vancouver, so we just walk all the time, and we went to see the movie Get Him To The Greek last night, and according to google maps we ended walking 6 km round distance to and from the theater. I also had no snacks at the theater, go me!

Back to working 12 hour days tomorrow!

Mini Workouts.

I will come out and say it- I hate excersing. I get all red in the face, hot and sweaty. Yuck. Also I seem to have the attention span of a golden retrevere. I can not commit to 30 + minutues of exersize. I'm trying to get past this and turn from flab to fit, so I have started doing small changes, like doing squats when ever I can, or shadow boxing. Its only for say a minutie or two at the time, eg- while waiting for the microwave to finish, or when alone on the elevator.

Today I wanted to count how many squats I do in a day, with all of these little mini-mini workouts. I did over 350 squats today, and the day is not even over! Wow! I'm impressed with myself.

Back...

Yikes, this last month has been crazy, so crazy that I have not had en ought time to blog. tisk tisk! At the start of May I was busy finishing up my finals for the term, which caused for me to fall from the fitness/ diet wagon. After I went with my dad to Hawaii for a week to spread my mums ashes, on a very bitter sweet vacation.
I returned back home to have enough time to do my laundry and pack to temporarily move 400 km away, where I have been working at an industrial mill, working twelve hour shifts on four days on/off.

I was able to get back in the fitness mode about half way through the month after I noticed that my jeans were becoming a little snug. I'm at this stage right now where I am "skinny fat", I am a size 6 and look normal but don't have a lot of muscles toning which makes me flabby. So I have been focusing on measuring my body other than using my scale.

so here are the facts. On May 16th , I was (chest/waist/hips) 34.2/28.0/39.2.
half a month later I am as of today 33.5/27.0/38.2

So In just over two weeks, Ive lost an inch off my hips and waist, and sadly Ive lost 0.6 of an inch off my chest. Can you believe that When I started my weight loss journey about a year and half ago, I was a DD38, and I'm right now wearing a B36 which is loose!

I have just over 3 weeks left at my job here, and hope to be able to lose another inch off my waist and hips before returning hope to enjoy the summer with my friends and boyfriend!

NSV!

With all my stress from yesterday I forgot to mention, I had a NSV yesterday, The boyfriend and I went to the mall yesterday to buy birthday presents for his little sister, and while there I went to go try on some shorts. I took a size 9 into the change room, had to then ask Adam to get me a size 7, then I had to get him to go back and get me a size 5, and the 7's were huge on me! Sadly they were out of 5's in fact they only had size 13 and 15 left- the two sizes that I was before I started losing weight- and at that weight I would never be seen wearing shorts!

On days when I feel like a whale I have to remember that I have made a lot of progress, and to look at the big picture.

Stress!

Hello stress! I am leaving on the 27th for Hawaii! woo. I'm going to spread my mums ashes- not so woo. Now I have lost my passport. I found this out Friday morning. If I had my birth certificate it wouldn't be so bad, I could just walk into the passport office, drop around 160$ ( its around 80 for a passport and 80 for it to be express printed up) and get a new one, the money thing sucks, but I'm not that worried. But alas, I don't have a birth certificate, its been lost for years . In order to get a passport, you need your BC, so I had to drop another 60 $ to get a birth certificate urgently printed up. It take 2- 5 business days. So I could be getting it Monday- Friday. The it takes a day to print up a passport. So worst case scenario I'll be running around next Monday to get a passport for Tuesday, as we are flying out at about 6 am on the 27th. FRICK FRICK FRICK. This is a lot of stress! I am praying that I get this all worked out. I need to go to Hawaii.

Oh, Mother Nature.

Today was a great springy feeling day, the sun was shining, warm weather. However in the morning its still a tad nippy, so I wore my coat to work this morning. I now know that my coat has a whole in its pocket where my debit cad has since escaped. Drat. Tomorrow I need to wake up and go to the bank to get a replacement- again!
Silver lining is that its a nice 3.2 km walk round trip. My city is ridiculously hilly, so I'll be able to work on my legs while walking up to the bank. I am also taking this as mother nature's way of telling me to hang up my wool pea-coat till Fall.

Also- Yesterday I was in my night class eating a kiwi fruit,( a fruit that I am so happy to have rediscovered after years of not eating it) and a girl stopped me, telling me that I am the first person she has ever seen eat it with the " fur" on it. Am I odd for eating them fur and all ?

Weigh in- April 13, 2010.

Dun dun dun. Well I lost 8 lbs in the last week! Not shabby if I say so myself. This was my first week back dieting, so I understand that a lot of it is water weight, but I'll take it. Next week I will be expecting more realistic , aka smaller number. I'm going to try to push for 2 lbs.
I'm only 3.8 lbs away from my lowest weight, and I really hope that I can get there by the time I go to Hawaii on the 27th.

Weekly Goals-
1. To drink at least 1 litre of water everyday.
I am no a huge water fan, it usually feels heavy in my mouth. In this last week I started drinking 2 litres of Crystal light daily to get used to being hydrated. So this week I am trying to gradually switch CL for water. I can do it!

2. To work out 3 times a week.
Now I know a lot of you out there work out almost every day( awesome job!), but I'm not that type of person- yet. So Ill try three times this week and hope to add to it every week. I am closer to my goal weight, but still have a little flab, and it want to be fab, so I need to work on toning up!
